Perl: Not just a hobby any more 3
Back in January, I wrote that I was choosing Perl to revisit as my language for recreational programming.
Quite a bit has happened since then. I gave a talk on MooseX::Declare to the London Perl Mongers and will be delivering an extended version at this year’s YAPC::Europe in August.
Then, a week ago, I accepted an offer to work full time as a Perl programmer again. In London.
Sing “Ho!” for the life of the long distance commuter.

Bwahahahaha, THERE IS NO ESCAPE!!!!
Errm, I mean, “damn, that’s a hell of a commute”. Gonna be staying in London during the week I assume?
Yup, staying in London. Thank heavens for the internet and last minute hotel booking. Once I’ve wrestled my credit card company into submission and got the first month’s worth of flights booked I’ll be feeling a good deal more sanguine.
Flying? I guess that makes sense given the proximity to Heathrow. Of course flying is cheaper than the train now.
Looking at skyscanner last week, Ryanair would fly you there and back for £22…via Dublin.
