What did I miss? Which ones don’t belong on the list. What am I talking about?

    absolutely! We can only allude to what he might be meaning. My three words for DSLs (which we all know how much Piers loves) are:

    • Readability,
    • Succinctness,
    • Expressiveness.

    Which I think are fairly self explanatory. I also really like Marcel’s three words for beauty1:

    • Proportion,
    • Integrity,
    • Clarity.

    Again, I believe these are fairly self explanatory. On the other hand, whilst Pier’s words look nice, I don’t believe their intentions are that clear (which perhaps defeats their point somewhat).

    So Piers, are you going to expand?

    I know what he’s talking about, and I know near-nowt about programming.

    But the nouns are good for photography too.

    May I add ‘redaction’ ?

    I mean this both in the blue-pencil sense, to edit out, and as an slightly different meaning to reification. Selective publishing.
